The best colection

The Amana Collection’s goal is to create beautiful clothes with ethical origins that illustrate environmental and social responsibility. Amana believes fashion can equate to exquisite design and quality with eco-friendliness. The London fashion website www.fashion-
conscience.com has started carrying the Amana Collection as part of its environmentally friendly woman’s fashion offerings. According to Lianne Ludlow, the Director of Fashion-Conscience, they accept the Amana philosophy to create clothes that marries beautiful design with ethical production practices.

The web retailer www.fashion-conscience.com uses source suppliers whose missions are to create fabrics that have minimal negative impact on the environment. The result is a collection of garments handmade from beautiful organic cottons, sumptuous organic silks, and luxurious hemp mixes. The site has the vegan and other eco-friendly accessories to comprise an entire fashionable, coordinated, and accessorized wardrobe. The site only handles fair-traded goods from countries where working conditions are equitable for the workers.

An example of our other garments on the site includes those made by women artisans in Ain Leuh, an enchanting village perched high in the Middle Atlas Mountains in Morocco. We work on a fair-trade basis with our artisans, and have developed long-term partnerships with them. We insure good working conditions, make advance payments, and provide technical assistance and training.

We aspire to present you with a desirable and beautiful collection which does not come at an ethical cost, nor harm the environment or its world’s workers. You can buy our collections and trust that the material and labor, from the cotton farmer to the finishing stitches were accomplished while respecting the people involved, and protecting our precious eco-system. Our www.fashion-conscience.com supply promises that every item will be produced in an ethical fashion with your environment in our minds.

Erin became interested in the development of fair-trade practices in the fashion industry while studying for her degree in Fashion Management at The London College of Fashion, where she wrote her dissertation on fair-trade fashion. After graduating in 2005, she spent time in Gujarat, India with an ethical textile importer and worked beside local co-operatives. In 2006, Erin and Helen set up Amana LLP with high ambitions to combine their belief in ethics and their love of fashion. Erin now manages the day-to-day business operation, oversees production in Morocco, and does all our marketing.

Helen graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2005. She became interested in sustainable design while studying for her degree, and began researching sustainable textiles and natural dyes. She now manages the design process at Amana (designing the garments, making patterns and samples, sourcing fabrics, trimmings, and fastenings), along with training our artisans in Morocco.
